638.16738 Public Transportation: An Analysis of Rider Classification
This four-page undergraduate paper examines the observations made by the author during a morning and afternoon commute on the CTA. The author divided the riders observed into four categories, white collar office or banking professionals who isolated themselves from their surroundings by reading newspapers, staring out the window, or sleeping; white collar office or banking professionals who took an active interest in their surroundings by engaging in polite conversation; blue collar commuters who isolated themselves from the people around them by listening to Sony Walkmans; and CTA riders in their teens or early twenties who displayed a certain degree of subtle hostility or resentment at being confined in a commuter train with adults who are obviously far less intelligent and sophisticated than they are.

640.16772 Sample Grant with the Title ?Family Works?
We propose a grant in the amount of $8000. With these funds, we propose to hire graduate students to administer and set up a network of student volunteers to help unemployed and poverty stricken families. We want these volunteers to be made up of students from which this program will benefit. So we want involve poorer students. We will perform our services through the Denver Colorado Family Support Project. This food bank serves as a "port of entry" for most family support participants. They include: parenting classes, personalized work-readiness and job training programs, weekly WIC clinic; nutritional counseling; support groups and weekly drop-in parent-child activity sessions; service learning programs for youth.

641.16788 The Inuit Eskimo
In this paper, we will explore the Inuit Eskimo. We will discuss the economic system of the culture, the government or decision-making system, the religious system, the social system of the culture, and assimilation and domination the Inuit has gone through during its history.
The Inuit are people that inhabit small enclaves in the coastal areas of Greenland, Arctic North America, and extreme northeastern Siberia. The name Inuit means the real people. In 1977 the Inuit Circumpolar Conference officially adopted Inuit as the replacement for the term ?Eskimo.? There are several related linguistic groups of Arctic people. Many of these groups prefer to be called by their specific ?tribal? names
rather than as Inuits. In Alaska the term ?Eskimo? is still commonly used.

642.16826 Ghettos
In this paper we will discuss Ghettos. By starting with the history of the word ghetto, we will see how the term ghetto was first used to describe designated areas where Jews were forced to live, and then came to describe any area in which minority groups live, or are restricted by economic or social pressures. We will discuss accounts of modern day ghettoes in both scholarship and the arts. By first identifying the groups living in the modern-day ghettoes, we will describe the living conditions inside the ghetto. Ultimately we will discuss how the ghetto today is different from a ghetto during the Holocaust.

644.16879 Welfare Reform
This paper examined welfare system in the United States, tracing its evolution from the states to the adoption by the federal government. I discussed myths associated with welfare system, many people suggest that its cost is overwhelming, but the reviewed statistics show that welfare expenditures represent only a small percentage of the federal government budget. The welfare reform program was also examined, today the welfare roll has been significantly reduced, but questions are increasingly raised whether the cutbacks are hurting children programs which depend on welfare funding to stay alive.
