This paper explains how spiritualism and healing have reasserted against the authorities of organized religion and science. They long faced resistance due to the failure of western institutions to understand the connection they made between mind, body and nature. Scholarly interests and social movements have gradually dispelled the opposition and influenced science and religion to acknowledge the value of spiritualism.

86.The Resurrection and its importance to the Christian.
When Christians are faced with the biggest question that they can be asked or ask themselves, what evidence do you have, what reassurance can you give, that Christ was actually God? Saints have miracles attributed to them as Christ did, but they are not God. Jesus is considered to have been a prophet by the Jews. Jesus was unquestionably a man. So, what can be used to demonstrate his existence, the justification for faith in him rather than the God of the Hebrews? It is, for the Christian, the Resurrection that cements belief. It is the Resurrection, the moving of the rock, and the disappearance of the Body of Christ followed by His reappearance that proves his divinity to the Christian. While Lazarus was raised from the dead, he did not do so of his own accord. Christ, however, was released from his mortal body thus freed to return to his state as the Deity. It is the purpose of this paper to explore the Resurrection and its significance as the single most important event for the Christian faith.
New Testament Christology, "today lives in the tension between continuity with the church's doctrinal tradition on the one hand and, on the other, openness to the new experiences and understandings of Christ arising out of the particular contexts of suffering and hope", (Migliore, 242). One of the central Christian tenets is that Christ cannot be contained within any house of man's making - nor, by extension, by any literary construct of the Bible or any interpretation thereof. While the literalist churches base their faith upon an absolutist reading of the Bible, the deeper thinking Christians and scholars all observe that God's words are in the Bible, but not God himself. Therefore, there is more to God than what is in the Bible and being open to new ways of experiencing and knowing God is what forms the center of Christology. It is the purpose of this paper to examine the nature of New Testament Christology and a selection of the manners in which it is approached.

88.The Gospel of Luke.
The Gospel of Luke, the third of the four Gospels in the New Testament, tells the story of Jesus' life, death, and of his resurrection. While the text of the Gospel does not directly name the author, traditional wisdom has it that it was written by Luke, who was a follower of Paul, the Author of the Acts of the Apostles. The author indicates that while he was not a direct witness to Jesus' life, he is a chronicler of all that had been written and said about Him and created a narrative of the facts of His life (Luke 1:1-4). The Gospel of Luke focuses intently upon the actual historic order of events from the birth of John and the future coming of Jesus Christ in prophecy. Spiritually, the Gospel of Luke focuses intently upon the concept of the suffering Savior and of the saintly life, and of tolerance (mercy). It is the purpose of this paper to explore the Gospel of Luke in the New Testament and to observe his instructions on suffering and mercy.

89.The Apostle Paul.
The Letters of Paul, The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans is, in many ways, very different from the other books of the New Testament in that it is a collection of letters and fragments of his writing are, rather than an accounting of Christ, a discourse with Rome regarding Christ. In this discourse, we are party to Paul's views and those of his collaborators and adversaries. While there is no real distinction between the letters, each does present opportunities for negotiation of proposals and positions. Some give definite decisions, others are left wide open. Paul continues to take up and revisit questions, reformulating his ideas and arguments, thus providing evidence of the necessity to debate and think and rethink the Bible and Christ's message. It is the purpose of this paper to examine the Book of Paul and writings about him that illustrate his conversion and his journey's end.

91.15225 Paralios and the Conversion to Christianity
This paper is written about the conversion of Paralios and how it relates to the theories of Stark and Macmullin. The rapid growth of Christianity has spread through family and friends faster than any evangelism. This can be seen in the conversion of Paralios.
