This paper focuses on the lives, passions and destinies of Dorothy Day and Saint Augustine of Hippo have close resemblances and are strikingly parallel. They were both born into comfortably well-off families: Augustine's in Tagaste (a city in what is now Algeria), where his father was a city official; and Dorothy's in Brooklyn, New York. Both were in search of something they vigorously sought from their youth, and both had strong links with their parents: Augustine with his saintly mother, Monica, and Dorothy, with her father John Day. And both of them were endowed with the capability to achieve their pursuit: Augustine received a Christian education, although his father was baptized into Christianity only before his death; and Dorothy spontaneously found serenity and beauty in the desolate and drab streets of Chicago's south side at the time (Forest). Both possessed sharp intellect and unbreakable will. Even their timelines are parallel: Augustine was converted and baptized into Christianity when he was 33 years old and died when he was 76 years old (Knight); Dorothy was received into the Catholic Church at 30 years old and died at 75 (Forest).

121.269 The Faith in Today.
This paper is written about religion, faith and the barriers to believing in God. Religion and science have a long history together. Religion, to a certain extent, has always been somewhat of a mixture between modern culture, science, and religious dogma itself. But something has happened over time, a distortion of sorts. We now have some form of religion that looks a lot like bad science. It is philosophy and its engineers that try and makes sense of the mess between religion and science.

123.644 Baptism and Religion.
How important is baptism to the Catholics? Many other religious beliefs feel that baptism is a major step in their belief. This goes back in time even to the Emperor Constantine. 124.737 Christianity and Humanism
Even though Christianity and humanism were key points in the western civilization, they were very different. The triumph of Christianity meant classical humanism had to change. Christianity led a world of faith and led to the Middle Ages. The purpose of life changed from one of trying to achieve excellence through human ability to the importance of obtaining salvation (Perry 1985). Most of the Christians believed one way and were the early church. Large numbers of people chose to

?Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you? (ST. Augustine 2003). Should children be encouraged to pray and believe? These are questions that have been considered in several studies on prayer and children that shows children praying is a positive step in their healing.

126.16292 The Catholic Perspective of Cloning
The first book of the Bible, Genesis, gives the story of how God created man and woman. Eve was told that she would produce children. Each individual is different, both corporal and spiritual. ?During cloning there is no joining of genetic material of two parents. Rather, the DNA of a somatic cells is implanted into an egg without any genetic material of its own, and the resulting fused cell is stimulated to begin dividing? (Byren 2003). Is it right to create a person or animal in this way? Is this God?s plan? What is the Catholic perspective on cloning whether animal or human? This paper will define cloning, describe how it is used, when and where cloning has been used, and the Catholic perspective of cloning.
